What is the CUET Exam?

Common University Entrance Test, often known as CUET, is a nationwide test used to determine undergraduate admission to 44 core universities and 46 other institutions. The CUET test results must be used for admission to UG degrees at all central institutions. 12 central universities were using the CUET test to admit students to UG, Integrated PG, and PG programmes till 2021. Eligibility Criteria for CUET Exam

  • The age of a candidate does not restrict them from taking the CUET for undergraduate programmes. Candidates who passed the Class 12th or equivalent test or who are taking the exam in the same year are eligible to take the CUET. However, please note that the applicants must meet the age criteria (if any) of the specific colleges, they desire to apply to.
  • Candidates must have received their Class 12 diploma from an accredited school board.
  • The CUET eligibility requirements may differ for various courses and universities, therefore applicants should check the institutions’ official websites.
  • Candidates will not be able to apply for CUET if they have failed one or more subjects in their class 12th grade.
  • Even if a candidate succeeds on the entrance exam, entry to the programme is not assured unless the individual satisfies the requirements of the university to which they are applying.
  • According to the CUET UG eligibility requirements, candidates must have completed Class 10+2 or an equivalent programme, or hold a 10+3 diploma that has been authorized by the State Board of Technical Education. CUET 2023 – Course-wise Eligibility

All colleges have various requirements for CUET 2023 eligibility. Before completing the CUET 2023 Registration Form, candidates are advised to review the eligibility requirements of the specific university they are applying to. For the benefit of the students, the following qualifying standards are listed each course:

CUET 2023 Eligibility for Undergraduate ProgramsApplicants from the General category must have at least 50% in their 12th-grade exams, while SC/ST candidates must have 45%.

CUET 2023 Eligibility for Postgraduate Programs

The cutoff is 50% for students in the SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories while 55% for general category students. Many areas have a unique criterion for OBC candidates.

An applicant must first get a bachelor’s degree in the discipline they wish to pursue a master’s in, or a closely related field.

CUET Reservation Policy

Before submitting an application for admission to any of the participating universities, applicants can check the CUET reservation requirements. The minimal percentage needed for admission is waived for students in the restricted categories by 5%. Every participating university adheres to the reservation guidelines set forth by the Indian government. The participating universities will refuse any applicant admission if he or she cannot demonstrate the validity of their CUET reservation claims.
